1. General information
The main goal of this subject is to provide students with the essential tools to communicate in multinational environments, understanding their interlocutors, although sometimes with effort, expressing themselves clearly and reasonably correctly.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030( https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), in such a way that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement.

2. Learning results
- Read and understand different types of texts in English needed in their professional activity, e.g. reports and technical documentation, specialized articles, instructions.
- Write different types of texts in English that respond to different needs and are used in professional communication in the discipline.
- Understand and participate in simple conversations in English in work situations.
- Use communicative strategies to be able to participate in conversations in work situations.
- Read and understand specialized bibliography in English related to the discipline.
- Understand and prepare oral presentations of projects in English.
- Plan, prepare and deliver oral presentations of projects in English.
- Develop strategies for searching for information and reading online texts.

4. Academic activities
Theoretical and practical classes: The theoretical concepts of the subject will be explained and practical examples will be developed
illustrative examples to support the theory: 36 hours
Conversation practice: The students will be divided into pairs or small groups and will be supervised by the
teacher. 8 hours
Evaluation activities: 6 hours
Tutored autonomous activities: Focused mainly on seminars and tutoring under the supervision of the
teacher: 25 hours
Practice and reinforcement activities: Of a markedly non-attendance nature: 50 hours
5. Assessment system
Continuous assessment
- Attendance at a minimum of 80% of the classes is considered an essential requirement.
- The continuous evaluation program will be validated through a series of evaluation tests for the different areas of the program
language skills ( reading, listening, writing and speaking) throughout the subject. It will be necessary to prove that you have level B1
in each and every one of the above skills. Each skill accounts for 25% of the subject. It is necessary to get a 5 in each
one for averaging. Skills passed will be maintained throughout the subject.
- The final grade will be obtained from the grades obtained in the different tests taken, as well as from the activities handed in
Final evaluation:
- Students who do not follow the continuous assessment or who have not passed it may take a final exam
to be held at official meetings
- The final evaluation program will be validated through the completion of a series of tests to assess the different skills
linguistic skills ( reading, listening, writing and speaking). It will be necessary to prove that you have level B1 in each and every one of the following subjects
previous skills. Each skill accounts for 25% of the subject. It is necessary to get a 5 in each to average.
- The oral test will take the form of an interview.
